Just like all young knights, Karl is dreaming of great adventures—a bit complicated if you only have a wooden sword and a donkey! But then Karl finds a stone egg; a strange dragon hatches from it, and before you know it, Karl is on the go.
Karl wants to experience big adventures just like the great knights. By all means! He trains everyday, even if he just has his donkey Willi to ride and his sword is made of wood. But then he finds a weird egg out of which a baby dragon hatches. Indeed, a very ravenous baby dragon. Karl calls him JamJam and takes the creature to Leonardo, the wise wizard of the castle. But JamJam runs away and starts biting off parts of anything that happens to be in front of his snout. The King throws JamJam in jail. Karl is terrified; of course he cannot leave little JamJam in prison! Now, to save his friend, he needs to make a plan and muster the courage of a real knight.
